81 - Pen and Paper

A quick sketch turned into this... Monster. I wanted to paint a very young Tintin on this way to do his first story. I also wanted to draw something with him that didn't involve Milou/Snowy, since I have a habit of always, always drawing the two of them together. Also technically he shouldn't have his quiff here, but shhh ~

This one also took forever to paint! .. And by forever I mean two days, but I'm so used to just rush the colouring so I need to take time to actually pay attention to details. So it feels like I'm sitting forever and ever on a painting that usually would take a half hour for me to finish.

This became a bit dark in the end. I'm in a mood where I really LOVE the shadows! Shadows everywhere, with a soft light somewhere. It's a very dark painting but I still really like it homehow. I'm sure I'll look at this a year from now, thinking "good God, why did I make this so dark?"
